Two Charged in Mongomery Armed Robbery

Aurora, Ill. - Two west suburban are facing felony armed robbery charges for allegedly stealing electronics and cash from an apartment they were invited to Sunday.

Jose A. Aguiniga, of the 0-100 block of Whitney Way in Montgomery, and Francisco J. Valles, of the 900 block of Edward Street in Aurora, were both charged with armed robbery, a Class X felony, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Valles, 27, allegedly pointed a handgun at the resident of the apartment at 20 Hillstone Rd. in Montgomery where the men had been invited in, the release said.

Valles and Aguiniga, 20, took cash and cash and miscellaneous electronics from the resident before fleeing about 6:48 p.m. The resident knew both men, the release said.

Aurora police arrested both men about 9 p.m. after they stopped the vehicle they were driving at the intersection of Galena Boulevard and Root Street and found a handgun in their possession, the release said.

Valles is currently in custody at the Kendall County Jail, and Aguiniga is being held at the Kane County Jail. Both men were ordered held on $500,000 bond and will next appear in court March 19, the release said.
