Z Automation Company, an innovative Packaging Machinery manufacturer in Arlington Heights, IL is currently looking for a full time Stockroom Clerk to manage and organize the daily flow of our stockroom. Please only apply if you are truly willing to aid us in this challenging, but rewarding task!
Note: This is an ENTRY LEVEL POSITION, though prior stockroom experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
Job Requirements:
- Maintain the organization and smooth operation of the company Stockroom.
- Must have a working knowledge of computers as Inventory control will be done through the company established database system
- Knowledge and experience in Outlook and Excel, particularly in using and updating the Outlook Calendar on a daily basis.
- Responsible for checking in and receiving all INCOMING shipments from UPS, FedEx, and all Supplier deliveries.
- Compare shipments received to packaging slips and report any discrepancies.
- Enter packaging slips into the system as parts are checked in
- Receive and take complete inventory of ALL Product/carton samples sent in by customers; report receipt of material and applicable inventory to Project Management
- Maintain a constant control of what comes in and goes out Fill out Daily "In/Out" spreadsheet on a day-to-day basis. Work with Service Technicians to check parts out of stock prior to leaving for service, ensure technicians are only taking what is included on Service List. Check returned service parts back into stock successfully.
- Organize, Organize, Organize the stockroom is an essential part of the Manufacturing structure upon which we operate and having an ORGANIZED system is crucial to being successful.
- Create and apply labels to any new parts, new shelving, etc. that is brought into the Stockroom
- This position will work closely with Purchasing and the Machine Shop/Assembly departments. The ideal person will have a firm knowledge of both mechanical and electrical components(drills, taps, pneumatics, hydraulics, sprockets, bushings, bearings, raw material, etc) as well as general shop and building maintenance experience.
- Report to purchasing on items that have a low stock volume and need to be ordered.
- Check assemblies and BMR's released by Engineering against current stock quantities and send checked BOM's/BMR's to Purchasing for immediate ordering (several times a day).
- Perform quarterly and yearly Inventory counts and report such counts to Purchasing and upper management.
- Supervise all equipment service calls on shop machinery such as lathes, milling machines, saws, CNC equipment, etc.
- Aid purchasing in obtaining quotes on building maintenance projects
- You will be the "eyes and ears" of our stockroom and will be responsible for ensuring it remains clean, neat, ORGANIZED, and operating in such a way that it remains a resourceful and essential company tool. Discrepancies in inventory or miscounted items will fall directly back on the stockroom.
- Assist with pre-assembly of smaller subassemblies as needed
- Skidding/Shipping: Create material order for building skids. Responsible for the actual building and assembling of skids, scheduling of all necessary trucks, as well as physical skidding of equipment on the date of shipment.
- Monitor machine shop drawings and send any necessary parts for welding or outside coating (plating/hardening/grinding/black oxide, etc). Drop off or pick up parts from said services if required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education High School, some college preferred.
- English Speaking, reading, and writing are a MUST.
- EXCELLENT communication skills as you will communicate daily with upper Management, Engineering, Customer Service, and Purchasing
- Ability and willingness to bring new ideas and suggestions to the table.

- Working hours are 7:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. Monday thruogh Friday with a willingness to work overtime and weekends if needed.
