SALES ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE: Candidate will present and sell WFLD/WPWR-TV. Prepare sales presentations and maintain all paper work/reports related to sales activities, and properly service all accounts. Service accounts and developing new business within advertising agencies and clients directly. Obtain all aspects of potential business, including competitive rates, market conditions, station conditions, advertiser budgets, CPM’s, etc. Negotiate rates and manage stewardship of all accounts. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. Candidate must have 3-5 years sales experience. Local agency relationships preferred. Must have excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills, and strong attention to detail. Industry knowledge and the ability to function as part of a team are also required. College degree preferred and must be computer literate.
WEB SALES COORDINATOR: Candidate provides a high volume of administrative support to Internet Sales Manager. Individual will maintain account files, traffic orders, design and create presentations, report out on metrics and work closely with the Internet Sales Manager throughout the entire sales process. Perform general clerical functions as well as, other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned. College degree desirable, strong clerical skills, Candidate must have excellent communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills while being able to work well under pressure. Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel and be able to assists in presentation preparation. Internet background preferred but not required. Must be organized, self starter, and be able to prioritize projects.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE NEWS DIRECTOR: General clerical duties, inclusive of answering phones, general research and digital archival duties. Uses AVID non-linear technology to assist in maintaining server and script archives. Works directly with vice president/news director and assistant news director to maintain schedules, records and reports related to the operation of news department. Handles timesheets, assists with expense reports and travel, and interfaces with station finance department. Handles subpoenas and other important requests of news department. Ensures that viewers and users of website get answers to questions. Responsible for video management and archival duties. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. Successful candidate must possess strong writing and organizational skills should be detailed oriented and ability to follow through on all projects assigned. Must be resourceful and pro-active identifying issues needing attention. Proper telephone manner required. Prior internships and production experience in a broadcast facility desired. Familiarity with AVID and INews, a plus. Degree in Communications preferred.
PRODUCER: Writes scripts and edits video for all newscasts and website, myfoxchicago.com. Candidate works on deadline to produce news stories for on-air and all digital platforms. Works at direction of supervising producer or executive producer to evaluate multiple sources of information, graphics and pictures to create stories that are compelling and relevant to audience. May be required to assist reporters and desk in researching subjects, booking guests and communicating with photographers. Newscast producing, as assigned. Working in a non-linear, tapeless environment, writer must select and edit video on desktop to complement news copy. Must have excellent news judgment and knowledge of Chicago area. Writers are directly responsible for accuracy of copy. choosing video and sound, creating graphics, as well as gathering all relevant facts for news stories. Must perform all other duties, including updating the website, as assigned. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. Candidate must have 2-3 years television news writing experience or internet experience and college degree in journalism or equivalent. Experience with internet research, computer knowledge, INews and Avid preferred. Strong newscast producing skills, a plus. Must be creative, concise, attentive to detail, be able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Dependability, good news judgment, and accuracy are crucial.
