Assistant Assignment Editor/Field: RESPONSIBILITIES: News Department seeks energetic individual to gather and set-up stories for daily shows. The candidate will be responsible for shuffling news crews and reporter on a daily basis. Responsibilities include setting up stories, following up on stories, working as the transition assignment editor during editorial meetings, occasional field producing, handling paperwork, and answering phones. All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate will have 2-3 years newsroom experience. Background should include broadcast news experience on assignment desk. Must be able to research stories, and have excellent phone skills. Computer literate, great attitude and BA in Communications or Journalism.

Line Producer: JOB DESCRIPTION: Line Produce for A.M. News Show. RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will be responsible for the assembly and execution of the morning news cast through story selection, production of show rundown, and writing copy. Ability to complete all other tasks as assigned by Executive Producer. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 3-5 years line producing experience. College degree preferred. Must have good news judgement, creativity, detail oriented, and be able to handle deadline pressure. The ability to assign and supervise staff of 4-5 writers is crucial. Reliability, communicating well and accuracy are essential to the position. Heavy sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking, attending meetings, and stair climbing is also required.

Director of Engineering: RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the VP-Engineering & Operations the successful Candidate will directly supervise the WFLD/WPWR Engineering Maintenance Department consisting of a Field Operations Manager and eight NABET Maintenance Technicians; develop and implement systems to ensure fault tolerant and error free operation of Station(s)’ broadcast equipment; daily oversight of local Hub/Spoke technology assuring efficient error free operations; active participation in Fox Television Stations, Inc. Engineering projects and initiatives; oversee the design, construction, and preventive maintenance of broadcast facilities; establish and maintain internal technical documentation and standards, which ensure Station(s)’ compliance with FCC, OSHA, EPA, and Local regulations; monitors applicable budgets and be responsible for satisfactory completion of assigned projects in a timely fashion. Duties also include training technicians in the operation and maintenance of specific equipment for the implementation of applicable procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the electronics industry with solid design engineering and troubleshooting skills. Certification or higher working knowledge of digital broadcast systems including but not limited to: full power UHF broadcast transmitters, encoding equipment, server technology, LAN, WAN, and storage technologies is a must. A degree in Electrical Engineering or Broadcast Engineering and prior management skills, similar position held and/or training experience preferred. Strong follow-through, written communications, and interpersonal skills required. Position requires moderate workstation, telephone, and FAX use. Light sitting, standing, bending, walking, stair climbing, driving, traveling, attending meetings, and lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. is also required.

Web Sales Coordinator: RESPONSIBILITIES: The Internet Web Coordinator provides a high volume of administrative support to Internet Sales Manager. Individual will maintain account files, traffic orders, design and create presentations, report out on metrics and work closely with the Internet Sales Manager throughout the entire sales process. Candidate must have excellent communication, organization and multi-tasking skills while being able to work well under pressure. Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel and be able to assists in presentation preparation. Internet background preferred but not required. College degree preferred. Other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Excellent communication, organization and multi-tasking skills required. Ability to work well under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with programming, rates and demographics a plus. 1-2 years Broadcast experience and knowledge of Dart and HITBOX, a plus. College degree preferred.

National Sales Manager: JOB DESCRIPTION: Prepare sales presentations and maintain all paper work/reports related to sales activities, and properly service all accounts. RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will manage the National Representation effort. Work with the Representatives in presenting all information pertinent to selling the Station. Knowledge of all aspects of potential business, including competitive rates, market conditions, station conditions, advertiser budgets, CPM’s, etc. is required. Other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 3-5 years TV sales experience in a major market. Must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail. Ability to establish strong relationship with national agencies and clients. Sales research, market knowledge and strong packaging skills a key element to successful performance. Ability to travel extensively. College degree preferred and must be computer literate. Prior management experience required.

V.P., General Sales Manager: RESPONSIBILITIES: Position will direct and over see all aspects of the Sales Department as it pertains to achieving revenue and share goals for WFLD & WPWR duopoly. Position will also oversee the Traffic and Research Departments. Other duties as deemed appropriate and as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Required established skill set includes developing and implementing strategic sales plans, increasing sales and digital revenue, budgeting and forecasting, pricing and inventory management; managing and motivating large group of sales professionals. Strong leadership, organizational, and team building are requisite skills. Effective communication skills are essential. Requires three (3) to five (5) yrs. national and local sales management experience, preferably in a major television market.

Account Executive: JOB DESCRIPTION: An experienced local Account Executive to present and sell the FOX and MyNet duopoly and generate significant revenue for both WFLD-TV and WPWR-TV as well as the website. RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate must be able to present and negotiate all aspects of both stations as well as the website. Must be able to develop strong client and agency relationships. Must be strong at transactional business, but also have the ability to be creative and use the stations assets to develop new business. Maintain timely paperwork and reports related to sales activities. Excellent and detailed service on all accounts is expected. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2 to 3 years advertising sales experience. Candidate must have excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills. Industry knowledge and the ability to function as part of a team is important. College degree preferred.

Sports Reporter/Weekend Anchor:  RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will anchor evening sportscasts and sports specials. Will also cover sports events such as NBA, NFL, NHL, and other major college and professional sports as well as write sports copy for air and website. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have the ability to communicate well in a live setting. Strong news judgment and writing skills essential. Requires a degree in journalism or related field and have at least three years of experience as a Sports Anchor or Sports Reporter. Must be willing to travel and work weekends/nights.
