More than 1.2 million people in our community face hunger. Two local organizations are working to ensure that these hungry neighbors have food in their time of need.
In Cook County, the Greater Chicago Food Depository partners with 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to provide food to 142,000 people each week. To learn more, visit www.ChicagosFoodBank.org.
In the 13 counties outside of Cook County, from Kankakee County to Lake County and west to Rockford, Northern Illinois Food Bank provides food to more than 60,000 hungry neighbors each week through a network of more than 600 food pantries, soup kitchens, youth and senior centers, and other feeding programs.
