    On January 4, 1966 many Chicago area television viewers sat curiously before their television sets waiting to witness another entry into the newly pioneered territory of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) television. While only 30% of the households in the area were equipped with UHF, television engineers and executives anxiously counted down the beginning to a brief on-air dedication ceremony that would mark the birth of Chicago's second UHF television station --- WFLD-TV.
