DETROIT (AP) - Jonathan Huberdeau's goal early in the third period broke a tie and the Florida Panthers beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 Saturday night. Daniel Cleary scored for Detroit, while backup goalie Jonas Gustavsson, making his second consecutive start, made 35 saves. It was Gustavsson's first regulation loss of the season.
CHICAGO (AP) - Brandon Jennings scored 33 points to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 92-75 win over the short-handed Chicago Bulls Saturday night. Kyle Singler added 12 points for Detroit (and Andre Drummond had eight points and 14 rebounds at Chicago's United Center. The Bulls shot just 33 percent from the floor while playing without leading scorer Luol Deng.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Nik Stauskas scored 17 of his 25 points in the first half, and Number 22 Michigan overwhelmed Houston Baptist 107-53 yesterday. The Wolverines bounced back from a loss at Duke with a nearly flawless offensive show in the first half. The Wolverines ended up tying a school record for 3-pointers with 16 on Saturday.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Michigan State regained the lead on Connor Cook's 9-yard touchdown pass to Josiah Price with 11:41 left and held on to upset Ohio State 34-24. Michigan State sealed a Big 10 title and a probable trip to the Rose Bowl with Jeremy Langford's late 26-yard TD run at Lucas Oil Stadum. The Spartans haven't played in Pasadena since 1988.
